Your 2026 guide to buying cannabis in Winnipeg

Buying legal cannabis in Winnipeg has never been easier — but with hundreds of products on the shelf, knowing where to start makes all the difference. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned connoisseur, here's everything you need to shop smart at Puff Paradise in 2026.

Where to shop

We run two Winnipeg locations — 1065A Ellice Ave in the West End and 825 Henderson Hwy in the North End. Both are open daily until midnight, fully stocked, and staffed by budtenders who actually know the product. Prefer to stay home? Order from our live menu online for in-store pickup or 1-hour delivery across Winnipeg.

What to bring

Cannabis is strictly 19+ in Manitoba. Bring valid government-issued photo ID every time — in store and on delivery. No ID, no sale; it's the law, and it keeps everyone protected.

How to choose & save

Start with how you want to feel, not just the THC percentage. Our staff can walk you through indica, sativa and hybrid options, terpene profiles, and format — flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, beverages or concentrates. New to cannabis? Start low and go slow. And don't forget the deals — we refresh weekly specials across the menu.

  • Two locations, open daily until midnight.
  • Shop in store, reserve for pickup, or get 1-hour delivery.
  • 19+ with valid government photo ID, every time.
  • Weekly deals refreshed across the whole menu.

Indica, Sativa & Hybrid: finding your fit

The three families — indica, sativa and hybrid — are the most common starting point for choosing cannabis, and understanding them takes the guesswork out of your next visit.

Indica is traditionally associated with a relaxing, full-body effect — a popular choice for evenings or a quiet night in. Sativa leans the other way: many people reach for it during the day for an uplifting, heady, energetic experience. Hybrids blend characteristics of both, and most modern strains are hybrids tuned toward one side or the other.

Look past the label

The indica/sativa split is a useful shorthand, but terpenes and cannabinoid content tell the fuller story. Two "indica" strains can feel completely different depending on their terpene profile and THC/CBD ratio. That's why our budtenders ask how you want to feel before pointing you to a shelf.

  • Indica — relaxing, evening, body-forward.
  • Sativa — uplifting, daytime, heady.
  • Hybrid — a balance, tuned either way.
  • Terpenes and THC:CBD matter as much as the family name.

How to store your flower so it stays fresh

Great flower is an investment — store it well and it'll reward you with better aroma, flavour and potency for months. Store it badly and it dries out, loses terpenes, and burns harsh.

The enemies are heat, light, air and humidity. Keep your flower in an airtight glass container — a mason jar is perfect — somewhere cool, dark and dry. Skip the plastic baggies (static degrades trichomes) and avoid the fridge or freezer, where temperature swings and condensation do more harm than good.

The humidity sweet spot

Aim for 55–62% relative humidity. Humidity-control packs make this easy and stop your buds from drying out or getting damp. Keep the jar out of direct sunlight and only open it when you need to.

  • Airtight glass, not plastic.
  • Cool, dark and dry — not the fridge.
  • 55–62% RH with a humidity pack.
  • Minimise air exposure — open only when needed.

THC vs CBD: what's the difference?

THC and CBD are the two most talked-about compounds in cannabis — and knowing how they differ helps you pick products that fit your goals.

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the primarily psychoactive compound — it's responsible for the "high." CBD (cannabidiol) is non-intoxicating; people often reach for it for a calmer, clearer experience without a strong head change. Many products combine both, and the ratio between them shapes the effect.

Reading the ratio

A high-THC product suits experienced users chasing potency. A balanced 1:1 THC:CBD can feel gentler and more functional. High-CBD, low-THC options are popular for daytime use and for anyone who wants minimal intoxication. As always: start low, go slow, and give edibles time to kick in.

  • THC — intoxicating, potency-forward.
  • CBD — non-intoxicating, calmer.
  • 1:1 — balanced and functional.
  • Check the ratio printed on every label.

A beginner's guide to cannabis edibles & dosing

Edibles are one of the most approachable ways to enjoy cannabis — no smoke, no smell, just a measured dose. But they work very differently from inhaling, and that catches a lot of newcomers off guard.

When you eat cannabis, it's processed by your liver, which means effects come on slower — often 30 to 90 minutes — and last much longer. The classic beginner mistake is taking a second dose too soon because "nothing's happening." Don't.

Start low, go slow

A common starting point is 2.5mg of THC. Wait at least two hours before considering more. Have food and water on hand, choose a comfortable setting, and keep edibles stored safely away from kids and pets in their original packaging.

  • Onset is 30–90 minutes — be patient.
  • Start around 2.5mg THC.
  • Wait two hours before redosing.
  • Store safely in the original packaging.
Concentrates

Concentrates 101: rosin, resin, shatter & more

Concentrates pack the good stuff — cannabinoids and terpenes — into a potent, flavourful form. If you're curious but the menu reads like a foreign language, here's a plain-English primer.

Concentrates are made by extracting the active compounds from the plant. Solventless options like rosin and live rosin use heat and pressure (no chemicals) and are prized for flavour. Solvent-based extracts like shatter, budder and live resin use a solvent that's purged off, and tend to be very potent. Texture names — shatter, budder, crumble, sauce — mostly describe consistency.

Potency check

Concentrates can run 60–90%+ THC, far higher than flower. A little goes a long way, so dose conservatively and make sure you've got the right gear — a dab rig, banger, or a compatible 510 vape.

  • Solventless — rosin, live rosin (flavour-forward).
  • Solvent-based — shatter, live resin (potency-forward).
  • 60–90%+ THC — start with a tiny amount.
  • Pair with the right rig or 510 battery.
